NIBN Logo Usage Standards

All rights to the NIBN logo are owned by the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (hereinafter “NIBN”). Persons other than NIBN, its officers, and employees (“third parties”) may use the NIBN logo in accordance with the following standards and procedures, provided they comply with all conditions set forth below. Please note that the “Secretariat” refers to the contact information listed below. A separate agreement is required for commercial use.

1. Permitted Use Without Prior Approval

  • Use of the NIBN logo is permitted without application in the following cases: Materials or items produced in the course of work related to NIBN, at the request or commission of NIBN (excluding commercial use).
  • When reprinting materials published by NIBN that already include the NIBN logo.
  • Use by media outlets reporting on matters related to NIBN.
  • Cases where separate conditions are specified.

2. Uses Requiring Prior Application

For uses other than those described above, an application to NIBN is required. Please follow the procedures below.

3. Application Procedure

  • Clearly indicate the name, representative, and contact information of the organization intending to use the logo, and submit the required application form (“NIBN Logo Use Application Form(27KB)”) to the Secretariat in advance.
  • The Secretariat will review the application to confirm the purpose and intended use. Upon approval, NIBN logo data will be provided. Submit usage plans (such as drafts of printed materials or samples of items) to the Secretariat for review.
  • The Secretariat will review the submitted plans and notify applicants regarding permission to use the logo.

Important Notes Regarding Application

  • If you have any questions about the application process, please consult the Secretariat before submitting your application.
  • Submission of the application form does not constitute approval.
  • When approval is granted, additional conditions for logo use may be imposed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Notify the Secretariat promptly if any changes occur to the approved content.

4. Logo Usage Guidelines

  • Do not alter the basic design or proportions of the logo (e.g., repositioning mark or organization name).
  • Do not alter color tones, contrast, or brightness. (Refer to “Logo Color Specifications” below.)
  • Do not modify the background or margins.
  • As a general rule, use the standard logo size as provided.
  • The following modifications are strictly prohibited:
    Italicization
    Rotation
    Flattening
    Font changes
    Movement or repositioning of objects
    Addition of other designs
    Placement on backgrounds of the same color or photographic backgrounds
     
  • Use the logo only for its approved purpose.
  • Lending or resale to third parties is prohibited.
  • Do not use the logo continuously; it may only be used once within the scope specified in the application.
  • If NIBN requests prior confirmation of content, please cooperate.
  • If published in magazines, books, or other media, provide a copy of the publication to NIBN.

5. Important Notes Regarding Use

  • NIBN shall not be liable for any damages incurred by third parties as a result of logo use.
  • NIBN may, in the following cases, take appropriate measures such as changing the terms of use, revoking permission, or requesting recovery of items:
    a) Unauthorized use without approval from the Secretariat
    b) Use that violates these guidelines
    c) False or fraudulent statements in the application form
    d) Other cases deemed necessary by NIBN

Specific Examples:

  • If there is a risk of harming the image or public interest associated with the NIBN logo or “NIBN”
  • If use is related to electioneering or religious activities
  • If the logo is used as a symbol mark or trademark of another business or organization
  • If there is risk of misunderstanding or misrepresentation regarding NIBN business
  • If permission was obtained by false or fraudulent means
  • If post-use, alterations or uses different from those stated in the application are discovered

6. Examples of Accepted Use

Examples of permissible use include but are not limited to:

  • Exhibition panels and posters
  • Slides and materials for presentations and academic conferences
  • Demonstration machines and prototypes displayed at trade shows
  • Verification devices (including those introduced through consignment or subsidy projects)
  • Websites

If you wish to use the logo for other purposes, consult the Secretariat before applying.

7. Usage Fees

In principle, use is free of charge. However, commercial use requires a separate agreement.
