Project for Shoku-iku


Project for Shokuiku
In response to enactment of "Basic act on Shokuiku", the national campaign is going to be implemented with respect to the health promotion through lifetime efforts for appropriate diets. This project aims to establish the foundation of scientific evidences useful to the promotion of "Shokuiku". And, the researches on childhood obesity, which is closely associated with adult obesity, are undertaken to investigate the effects of nutritional education. In addition, this project undertakes the researches on the methods of training and information dissemination for the registered dietitians who are actively involved in "Shokuiku" at regional level.











* In Japanese, "shoku" means food and diet, and "iku" means education.
Generally, "Shokuiku" is defined as "Promotion of learning on the healthy diet from an early stage, in particular on the choice of foods, so as to secure the healthy living over the course of one's life".
